Feature Descriptions
- Kick-off Call – We will collect the information we need to get started and help you select a theme template to control the look of your website.
- Web Hosting Setup – We will set up a Flywheel “Tiny” web hosting plan to get you started. The cost of web hosting is not included in the package and will be payable directly to Flywheel. Please see their website for details about cost and what is included in the package. After we create the account, we will set up WordPress and install our standard plug-ins. This setup includes configuring the domain name to point at the new website when we are ready to launch.
- WordPress Theme Setup – The theme controls the appearance of your site. For Basic packages, we will use our standard theme. We will work with you to select a premium WordPress theme from our library for all other packages. We will then add your logo, customize the colors to use your palette, insert images, and other theme settings to work with your branding.
- Homepage Setup – We will plug your content into the theme demo homepage layout. If you have a Pro or Elite package, you can use your additional hour allotment for some customization of the homepage.
- Blog Setup – Adding a blog to your website can help with search engine optimization (SEO). We will set up the categories and add up to 3 posts (written by you) to your blog.
- Contact Page – Users need a way to contact you, so we add a Contact page to every website. It will include a form that users can complete to contact you by email plus any additional contact information you want to share.
- Additional Site Pages – You need some content for your site! We will set up the pages allocated for the package you selected. You will provide the content. If you aren’t a great writer, we can recommend some excellent copywriters who can help you create the content for your website. These pages will be text-only unless otherwise noted. We typically recommend having at least About and Services pages.
- Legal Pages and Cookie Notice – For most websites, it’s essential to include a Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Cookie Policy, and Cookie Notice. The Privacy Policy protects your customers and lets them know what you are doing with any information you collect about them. The Terms of Use protects your business and lets your customers know if you have any disclaimers, warranties, return policies, etc. The Cookie Policy lets users know what cookies you collect and how you use them, and the Cookie Notice allows them to accept or decline the cookies. We will set up a Termageddon license for your website to create these pages. For Starter and Pro packages you will need to complete the forms to create the pages and Cookie Notice yourself or purchase a Legal Pages and Cookie Notice add-on. If you choose an Elite package, we will walk through the forms with you. Please note the cost of the Termageddon license is included in your maintenance plan, so you must keep that current to use the legal pages and cookie notice on your website.
- Google Analytics Setup – Google Analytics will let you know who is looking at your website and how they found you. If you already have an account, we will hook that up to your new website; otherwise, we will create an account for you.
- Mailing List Integration – If you want users to sign up for a mailing list, you need a place for them to sign up! We will add a mailing list signup form to your website and add a checkbox to sign up for the mailing list to your contact form. Don’t already have a mailing list? We will walk you through setting up a MailChimp account (the cost of the account is not included). You can purchase this service as an add-on for Starter packages, but it is included with Pro and Elite packages.
- Training – After we build the website, you need to know how to manage it. For Starter packages, we will give you access to some video training that will show you how to do just that. If you choose a Pro or Elite package, you will also get access to the video training, but you will also get up to an hour of training specifically for your website.
- Additional Development – Pro and Elite packages will receive an additional allotment of development time in addition to the items listed above. During our discovery call, we will work with you to determine the best use of that additional time
Small Business Website Package Add-Ons
Please see the proposal to learn about add-ons like copywriting, business email setup, and more.
Maintenance Plan
After we launch the website, we will provide ongoing maintenance for the website at a cost of $129 per month. This maintenance will include:
- Daily backups
- Weekly software updates
- Use of Pongos developer licenses for many premium plugins and themes (without this you’ll pay $250+ per year for the licenses required for your website)
- Termageddon license (without this you’ll pay $99 per year for the license)
- Ongoing security and uptime monitoring
- Weekly reports
We can’t stress enough how important it is to maintain your WordPress website. If you don’t do it on a regular basis, there’s a very good chance that your website will get hacked. For that reason, maintenance is added by default. If you would rather do the maintenance yourself, let us know before we launch and we will send you a $50 discount code for our WordPress Website Maintenance Toolbox. We will also provide you with instructions for purchasing the licenses required to update your website.
Please note this particular maintenance plan is only available to clients who purchase a Small Business Website package. Contact us if you need a maintenance plan but we did not build your website.
